Urban Copper Recycling

Industrial scrap metal removal in Sydney - Scrap Metal Pickup

Running an industrial site means producing scrap metal: off-cuts from your process, cable from fit-outs, old equipment and more. It takes up space, gets in the way of operations and can reduce your bottom line. Urban Copper Recycling removes accepted scrap metal from your site and pays you for the valuable metals. We arrange pickups around your schedule to keep disruption to a minimum and free up space.

Our yard is at Pendle Hill, in Sydney’s industrial west. We service manufacturers, warehouses and commercial sites across metropolitan Sydney. Call us to discuss your material and arrange an assessment and quote. Where possible, we schedule collection outside your production hours. Accepted metals are weighed on our calibrated scales, and payment is made by electronic transfer on the same day.

Scrap we collect from industrial sites

Industrial scrap is often grouped into ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Urban Copper focuses on non-ferrous scrap, including copper, brass and aluminium. Ferrous metals such as mild steel are not our main focus, while stainless steel is assessed separately because it contains iron. The type, grade and quantity of the material affect its value.

Copper and cable:

We collect busbars, switchboard components and off-cuts from electrical installations, as well as data and communication cable, power cable and control cable. Insulated and uninsulated material can be assessed.

Brass and bronze:

Valves and fittings from plant and equipment, bushings, bearings, plumbing components and hydraulic off-cuts can be assessed for recycling.

Aluminium:

We collect aluminium extrusions, sheet, plate, fabrication off-cuts, production scrap, window and door frames from fit-outs, and suitable equipment components.

Stainless steel:

Selected 304 and 316 stainless steel, including sheet, pipework, benches and tanks, can be assessed. Stainless steel is ferrous, so it is considered separately from our main non-ferrous focus.

Electric motors, lead and transformers:

We assess motors of different sizes from pumps, compressors, conveyors and other plant. We can also assess transformers, lead flashing, lead sheets and batteries. Contact us with details and photos so we can confirm what can be accepted.

For more information about accepted materials, see our scrap metal recycling services. If you have motors to clear, visit our page on electric motor recycling in Sydney.

Industrial Scrap Metal Removal Sydney

Industrial cleanouts and shutdowns in Sydney

Urban Copper can assess industrial cleanouts involving scrap, plant and equipment, including decommissioned production or processing lines. Tell us your deadline, whether it is an end-of-lease date, settlement or shutdown window, and what needs to be removed.

For suitable jobs, our crew can dismantle, cut, load and remove agreed items. We’ll assess the non-ferrous metals in the cleanout, weigh accepted material and pay for it. If the job includes significant material that has little or no resale value, we’ll explain any removal cost in the quote.

Who we work with:

We assist a range of commercial and industrial businesses with one-off scrap collections, cleanouts and scheduled pickups, including:

Call us if you don’t know if your things are brass. We can help you figure out what the material is and if it can be recycled.

Commercial accounts, scheduled pickups and bin exchanges

If your site produces scrap continuously, a one-off pickup may not be the best fit. Urban Copper can discuss commercial accounts for Sydney businesses, including:

  • – Scheduled weekly, fortnightly or monthly pickups to suit your production cycle.
  • – On-site scrap bins for collecting metal during production.
  • – Bulk pricing for large or repeat loads.
  • – A dedicated account contact.
  • – Agreed pricing arrangements.
  • – Weighbridge dockets and tax invoices for pickups.

For businesses that qualify, a regular collection arrangement can help reduce stored scrap and recover value from suitable metal. Contact us to discuss what works for your site and the materials you generate.

    Industrial scrap metal removal FAQs

Yes. We work with industrial, manufacturing and workshop customers throughout Sydney on one-off collections and scheduled pickups. Contact us with the material types, approximate quantity and site suburb so we can discuss the job.

A minimum weight may apply to collections. We can assess larger commercial and industrial jobs case by case. Large cleanouts and plant decommissioning jobs may qualify depending on the material and scope. Call us to check whether your load meets the requirements.

If a commercial or industrial load contains a suitable quantity of saleable non-ferrous metal, we may pay you for the accepted material. The value depends on type, grade and weight. If there is little saleable material, or the job includes items that need paid removal, we’ll explain the costs in the quote.

Our crew can dismantle and cut plant, production lines and other equipment when this is included in the agreed scope. Tell us what needs to be removed and any site requirements when requesting a quote.

The time depends on the size of the job, site access and what needs to be removed. Tell us your deadline, whether it is an end-of-lease date, settlement or shutdown, and we’ll discuss a suitable schedule. After-hours and weekend work may be available by arrangement.
