Let’s say you’ve got copper wiring mixed in with your steel reinforcement scrap. That copper will now be priced as low-grade mixed copper, which pays at a tiny fraction of its scrap value. Same thing with aluminium that’s contaminated with other metals — if that steel bracket or fence post is still attached when we weigh it, we’ll down-grade the entire load.

Scrap Copper:
Electrical wiring, data cable, pipe from plumbing fixtures, busbars from switchboards, copper grounding cable. Most copper comes off demolition sites either as copper wire or insulated copper cable. We buy all grades of copper, and the grade varies depending on material type and condition. We’ll talk you through how grading impacts price. Separating bare bright copper from insulated cable before collection is one simple example that can add meaningfully to your recovery value.
Scrap Aluminium:
Window frames, curtain walling, roof sheeting, cable tray, conduit, structural profiles and extrusions, scaffolding and many other substrates. Scrap Aluminium pricing is currently strong and you’d be surprised at the weights customers come up with for a major strip-out or renovation. We buy all grades and configurations of aluminium.
Scrap Stainless Steel:
Kitchen fit-outs, food processing facilities, hospital/medical fit-outs, industrial equipment/specialty process parts. Not all buyers are interested in scrap stainless steel and those that are don’t always pay market prices. We do, and we’re happy to buy it wherever we see it on site.
Scrap Brass:
Found in plumbing and fire services of most commercial buildings: gate valves, check valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, flanges, pipe fittings, tapware etc. It all adds up on demolition containing copper-bearing metals. Scrap brass sells for a solid price and is worth making sure it’s not getting thrown in with the general metal skip.
Scrap Lead:
Comes from roof flashings, wall flashings and sometimes (especially on older buildings) lead-lined plumbing fixtures or acoustic solutions. It’s heavy stuff with good recycling value, which means we actively seek it out and buy it in volume. A lot of older buildings around Sydney, commercial and residential, have more lead than owners realise.
